mim and james bluebell vineyard wedding photographer
When you receive a wedding enquiry that describes their love for Wes Anderson, you know its going to be an epic wedding. The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of my favourite films for the colours, composition and directive style. I mean, who doesn’t love Wes Anderson? I knew I was the perfect wedding photographer for this epic couple.
Mim and James got in contact following a referral from Hannah at Lush Curve Bridal in Dorking. Following our little chat over zoom, I just knew that we were the right fit. Mim has a creative mindset and was so open to ideas including plans for their wedding pre-shoot. For their wedding pre-shoot, we headed to Columbia Flower Market in East London. Oh my goodness, what a day. We had coffee, bought flowers and almost bought a 1950’s bicycle that both me and Mim still regret my decision in not buying.
Their wedding was all that I expected it to be and more.
Bold, bright and relaxed wedding vibes for the win
From handmade wedding invitations by Mim’s friend, to incredible bespoke sign-writing and wedding garden games. Bluebell Vineyard, Sussex was kitted out to the max with bold colours, bespoke details and gorgeous wedding flowers. I know who I am going to be asking to help me when it comes to my wedding day. It was a joy to be their wedding photographer. Garden games at weddings provide such a different aspect of the day to shoot for any wedding photographer. It entertains your wedding guests and gives me something quirky, as your wedding photographer, to capture. Although, I did almost get knocked out by a bean bag but it’s worth it for the perfect shot.
The outdoor wedding ceremony was interrupted by a gaggle of geese flying over, creating as much noise as they could. I feel like they were sharing in the celebration of the wedding day but their timing was not on point.
We headed into the vineyard for Mim and James’ couple shoot, which was, of course, inspired by Wes Anderson’s composition of square on images… its safe to say the creative spirit in me was living her best life.
Now let’s talk about their first dance… they moved from the marquee where their wedding breakfast was held up to the quirky wine bottle warehouse. A dark, open plan and unique space. Mim and James had this decorated to such defined taste that enhanced the vibe of the day. The giant glitter ball absolutely MADE the dance-floor images for me.
Just look at their wedding photos and try not to smile…
If you would like to book in a zoom chat to discuss your wedding then I will be blooming excited to talk all things wedding with you. Liked this wedding? Then you’ll LOVE these…
